Kyle Sockwell & Rowdy Gaines Accounced as Match 5 Commentary Team
Rowdy Gaines joins our broadcast for Match 5 on Friday, October 16th at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California. He'll work the match as an analyst alongside Kyle Sockwell, CSL's COO, who will be on play-by-play for the event.
Rowdy doesn't need much of an introduction. He brought home three gold medals at the 1984 Olympics in LA, and he's been the voice of the sport on NBC's Olympic coverage for decades. For many of our fans, the biggest races they remember are the ones they heard him call.
"Rowdy is the voice most swimming fans hear when they replay the biggest races in the sport in their head. Sharing a booth with him has been a goal of mine since I watched the Beijing 400 free relay from the living room of my childhood home. I got so fired up on his call that I very nearly took out the ceiling fan with a pillow. Nobody has done more to make people care about swimming, and on October 16 at Mt. SAC we'll get to talk swimming together for the whole world! Can't wait."
