Kevin Cargill Hired As CSL Commentator

This fall, every CSL match will air live across ESPN platforms, including linear TV, through our deal with ESPN. A stage like that needs the right lead voice, and that's why we've hired Kevin Cargill as our play-by-play announcer for seven of our eight broadcasts this season.
If you've been on a pool deck in the last few years, you already know Kevin. He's become a staple in-venue voice in swimming, and he brings experience calling college swimming as a play-by-play host at the highest level. He knows the athletes, he knows the rivalries, and he knows how to make moments feel as big as they are.
Kevin's Play-by-Play Schedule
Match | Date | Where to Watch |
Match 1 | Sept. 24 | ESPN+ |
Match 2 | Sept. 25 | ESPN+ |
Match 3 | Oct. 2 | ESPN+ |
Match 4 | Oct. 9 | SEC Network |
Match 6 | Oct. 23 | ESPN+ |
Match 7 (Wild Card) | Nov. 5 | ESPNU |
Match 8 (Championship) | Nov. 6 | ESPNU |
"Somebody finally stopped asking swimming to wait its turn. Elite teams. A format built for fans. Live on ESPN platforms all fall. The CSL is a bold move and I'm all in on it. This sport has always had the best racing. Now it gets the audience to match."
Kevin Cargill, Play-by-Play Announcer, College Swimming League
"We believe Kevin has a future as a play-by-play announcer in this sport at the major network level, so rather than going outside of swimming for an established voice, we decided to invest in that future ourselves. The play-by-play talent this sport needs already exists within it, and our job as a league is to give talent the stage and the reps required to develop, and with seven broadcasts on ESPN platforms this season, Kevin will get plenty of both."
Kyle Sockwell, Chief Operating Officer, College Swimming League
Kevin's first call comes with our season opener on September 24, live on ESPN+, and we'll have more to share about where this season takes us soon.
